Pilot

Join the XP/ND pilot

Generate new sales conversations now. Start building better targeting evidence as those opportunities progress.

The pilot begins with something immediately useful: identifying the right companies and people, then giving them a credible reason to speak with your business.

We are initially working with a small number of engineering companies. Join the waitlist and we will speak with you directly about the business, whether the model fits and when we may be able to start.

What is included?

Research, outreach, content, nurture, opportunity handover, tracking and monthly commercial review.

Business interviews. We learn how the company works, what you sell, who buys it and what you currently regard as good work.

Prospect research. We build and check the target market against the agreed brief. Existing prospect data can be brought into the process. You approve companies before contact.

Outreach. We create the initial sequence and operate it through a genuine person inside your business. You review and approve it before launch.

Content. We interview relevant people and turn their expertise into regular LinkedIn content and, where useful, source material for talking-head video clips.

Campaign management. We manage the outreach system, monitor engagement and keep the process moving. When a conversation needs a response outside anything already approved, we recommend what to say and make approval straightforward.

Nurture. Relevant prospects who are interested but not ready can stay in the system rather than disappearing because there was no immediate requirement.

Opportunity handover. We pass opportunities to your team at the qualification point agreed with you.

Opportunity tracking. At minimum, we track quote stage, win or loss and value. Then we add deeper commercial information where it is practical and useful.

Monthly commercial reviews. We review progress, opportunities, outcomes and what we are learning. Where the evidence supports a change, we use it to improve the next round.

What do we need from you?

We do the heavy lifting, but this cannot work without access to the knowledge and judgement inside the business.

We will need an initial set of interviews with the owner and other relevant people, your input on what the company does, what it wants and what it currently believes is worth targeting, approval of the target companies, outreach and content, access to a genuine person through whom the business development can take place, prompt input when a conversation needs technical or commercial judgement, somebody able to take over qualified opportunities, and honest feedback on what happens after handover.

Once the content process is established, we would not normally expect more than one dedicated content session each month.

The commercial review is separate. It exists to examine opportunities and outcomes, not to manufacture more posts.

How long should we give it?

We recommend allowing at least a quarter.

You are not contractually tied into a fixed three-month period. But if you are not prepared to give the work roughly that long, it is unlikely to be worth starting.

We need enough time to understand the business, build the target market, create and approve the campaign, generate conversations, let opportunities progress, start seeing what gets quoted and won, and begin learning from the outcomes.

The depth of learning depends on the kind of work you do. A company completing many short projects will generate useful outcome data faster than one pursuing a handful of long, high-value jobs.

How will we know it is working?

Success becomes clearer in stages.

XP/ND pilot success stages A rising three-stage diagram showing how pilot success progresses from conversations, to commercial progress, to better selection. MEASURING THE PILOT Success becomes clearer in stages. Start with conversations. Follow commercial progress. Use the evidence to improve selection. STAGE 01 Conversations Are we creating conversations with the agreed companies and people? STAGE 02 Commercial progress Are those opportunities becoming quotes, wins and valuable work? STAGE 03 Better selection Are we getting better at choosing the opportunities worth pursuing? BETTER EVIDENCE. BETTER CHOICES.

Stage 1 — Conversations. Can we create genuine sales conversations with the companies and people we deliberately chose to target?

Stage 2 — Commercial progress. Do those conversations become qualified opportunities, quotes, wins and worthwhile work?

Stage 3 — Better selection. As the evidence builds, are we getting better at choosing which companies, contacts and opportunities to pursue in the first place?

Lead volume alone cannot answer those questions. The pilot is designed to create near-term opportunities while beginning the longer-term work of improving selection.

Questions you may reasonably have

No.

Useful commercial information may currently live in a CRM, spreadsheets, accounting software, project records, emails, one person’s head or all of the above.

We work with the business you actually have. If a practical change to how something is recorded would materially improve the decisions we can make together, we can help with that.

We are not going to tell you to rebuild your commercial systems before we start looking for work.

No.

The relevant data and material created for your business can be handed over to you.

You stop having access to our system when the engagement ends. Your information and assets do not disappear with it.

Only within the limits you have approved.

The initial sequence is written by people, reviewed with you and approved by you. When a conversation needs an individual answer outside anything agreed in advance, we work with you.

We can recommend and draft a response. We do not invent a technical or commercial answer and send it under your name.

The objective is not to contact as many people as possible. It is to start useful conversations with people you have a reason to know.

That is why we research accounts deliberately, ask you to approve the companies, tailor the message to a recognisable reason to care and agree stopping rules before the campaign begins.

They do not have to disappear simply because there is no immediate requirement.

Where it is appropriate, we keep the account in nurture through useful content, sensible follow-up and relevant account monitoring until the timing changes — or until they buy, ask to be removed or stop being relevant.

It is most likely to suit an engineering company where a new customer or project has meaningful value, there are identifiable companies worth pursuing, somebody can take over genuine opportunities and the business is willing to share what happens after the introduction.

The first conversation is there to test we are a good fit. If our model is not right for your business, we will say so.
